A Productive Day

I had a productive day on Saturday - made a bunch of new burp cloths sets for my Etsy store.

I'm trying to make as many sets as I can to match the baby blankets I already have.

You can check everything out here:

Sherbet Quilts Baby Quilt

I've had some Sherbet Pips charm packs for awhile and finally got around to starting a new quilt top.

I just love this fabric line - so so cute. And the mix of colors makes it work for girls and boys.

The top just took a couple hours to sew together. I'm really happy with the results.

I'll work on the back tomorrow.

DIY Bag Lover blog

I came across this blog today - DIY Bag Lover.

There are lots of free tutorials available for download - check it out!

My Orders Arrived Wrapped

I received a couple fabric orders this week and just wanted to share how pretty the packaging was.

First off was fabric from Delta Patchwork. Isn't the tissue paper cute?

And here's what was inside.

And then there was this package from Marmalade Fabrics.

And don't you love what was inside?

More Items in My Store

Been under the weather for the past week, so not much sewing was done.

I did manage to get two more baby blankets made.

This lovely blanket using Leanika by Free Spirit. I'm loving the fabric in this line.
And then there is this fun print from Michael Miller called "Groovy Guitar".

I've added both blankets to my Etsy store.

Lots of New Fabric

I had a lot of lovely fabric arrive today.

First off was a couple yards of fabric from the Kumari Garden line, as well as some fat quarters. Mad About Patchwork had a special on so I couldn't resist.

These bright fabrics are from Amy Butler's Lotus collection. As soon as I saw them I had to order more of the red fabric. I bought these from a store on Etsy, lilybellafabrics.

And then there were these two big fat quarter bundles from the Fat Quarter Shop. They were also on sale so I couldn't turn down the chance to pick them up. The two lines are Betty Fun Flower and Lucy Fun Flowers.

Now I just need time to do some more sewing!

More Baby Blankets

I made three more baby blankets today.
The fabric is from Silent Cinema Zoetrope Pink by Jenean Mirrison for Free Spirit (top), Leanika by Dena Designs for FreeSpirit (middle) and on the bottom Snorkel Dots for Andover.

I've added the three to my Etsy store.

Silent Cinema

Just a quick note to show what arrived this afternoon.

A couple yards of Silent Cinema, designed by Jenean Morrison for Free Spirit. Isn't it beautiful?

My Long Weekend Was A Success

My husband was in Phoenix for his annual May golf trip, so I had a long weekend to myself. I spent some time making more items for my Etsy store.

By dinner time on Monday, I had finished 7 baby blankets and a bunch of burp cloths. Not too bad considering I watched movies every evening instead of sewing.

The only downside to the weekend is the layer of chenille "dust" that seems to be throughout the house.

Bella Parade

A couple weeks ago I found out that I won a giveaway on the blog 13 Woodhouse Road. It arrived today.

Can you believe it - 31 fat quarters of Bella Parade by Moda. I am such a lucky girl.

Big Delivery Day

Yesterday I had quite the pile of deliveries waiting for me.

My husband said that he was going to start charging me a courier fee if that many packages arrived on his day off again!

Here's a peak at some of the contents.

I won this set of fabric in a giveaway on the Uberstitch blog. It's a set of 10" squares of Sweet Nothings by Riley Blake.

Such cute fabric!

And then there was this amazing set of Sherbet Pips fat quarters. Oh, how I love this fabric line. Absolutely adorable. I bought these on

So that's some of the fabric that arrived yesterday. I'll show more later.

Waiting for me tonight was my lovely prize from Handmade By Heidi's blog. It's even cuter than the photo - I'm so lucky!

Yep, Some More Fabric

To put it mildly, I have been a quite a fabric buying binge lately.  My purchases from Fabric Shoppe on Etsy arrived yesterday.

First off are these lovely fabrics from the Michael Miller. I just love the blue and slate grey colors.

And then these two bright pieces. They are from the Remix Fabric collection by Ann Kelle. Aren't the colors great?

And last, but certainly not least, are these beautiful pinks! They are a mix of Kumari Gardens by Dena Designs (Free Spirit Fabrics) and Groove Fabric by Caleb Gray (Robert Kaufman).

Yipee, Some New Fabric!

I've been on a bit of a fabric buying spree lately. Look what has arrived.

My favs are the two on the left side. I bought them on sale from Hawthorne Threads.

The other five I picked up on sale at and Ready 2 Quilt Shop on Etsy.

These wonderful fabrics at also from I just love them all.

I picked up these lovely prints from Missouri Star Quilt Company.

I also bought these Bliss flannels on sale at Missouri Star.

And last, but certainly not least, a Strawberry Fields layer cake and charm pack. Oh how I love this fabric line. Absolutely beautiful.

Well, enough drooling over my fabric. I better get sewing!

I Won!

I'm so excited - I just found out I was one of the lucky winners on Handmade By Heidi's blog.

The prize was a journal and Kaffe fat quarters. Aren't they beautiful!

Bliss Meandering Path Quilt

It's finished! I'm so happy with my latest quilt.

I just love these binding clips. So much easier than pins - and I don't get poked!

The nice brights colors go well with our solid color duvet cover.

The fabrics are from the Bliss line, and the path is Meandering Path, available on the Moda Bake Shop site.

More New Fabric!

The mailman dropped off my latest order from Fat Quarter Shop.

These two pieces are for my postage stamp quilt. The floral for the back, the polka dot for the binding. Both are from the Buttercup fabric line.

Now I had better finish the top!

And I finally have some Sherbet Pips. It's so darn cute. I'm using these charm packs to make a baby quilt for a friend that is expecting her first child.

Slow Going

Spent some time this weekend working on the quilting of my Meandering Path quilt. Slowly but surely I'm getting it done.

Hopefully by the end of next weekend I'll be working on the binding.

Junk Food Placemats

I made a couple new placemats for us.

The main fabric is from Timeless Treasures and is called Junk Food. Isn't it cute?

It's my first attempt at some scalloped edges and I'm quite pleased with the final results.

The idea for the placemats came from the winter edition of Quilts & More Magazine.

Back From Vacation

I'm back from vacation. Spent a great week in Disney World with my whole family. Lots of fun!

This lovely fabric was waiting for me when I got home. I just love the colors in Oasis from Moda. I purchased all of the fabric from Fat Quarter Shop.

I'm off until Monday and am planning to get lets of sewing done.

Slow Going On My Postage Stamp Quilt

I have made some progress with my Postage Stamp quilt.

I really under estimated how long it would take to cut all of the strips.

I finally got everything cut.

And I'm now making all of the blocks.

They are actually going quite smoothly. I hope to get them done this weekend.

Postage Stamp Quilt Along

Well, I finally made some progress on my Postage Stamp quilt. This is the quilt along that is being hosted on PS I Quilt. Real life has been crashed down on us, so there hasn't been as much free time as there once was.

I have my strips sewn together now. I used two jelly rolls - Buttercup by Fig Tree Quilts and a solid roll of snow.

I'll try to get the strips cut this week, and then start the blocks next weekend.

Coffee, Anyone?

I recently bought a charm pack of Java fabrics. I spent some time this afternoon making a bunch of coaster out of them.

I'm taking these into work. We're a team of coffee drinkers to these seem fitting.

And I'm keeping these ones for home. They sort of go with the other colors in the living room.

New Fabric!

I went crazy a couple weeks ago and ordered a bunch of pre-cuts that I found on sale. And they all arrived this week.

The pretty charm packs are Nature's Notebook from Moda. I ordered them from Jelly Rolls 2 Go. They have an amazing selection of precuts.

These were all from Missouri Star Quilt Co - I can't resist their daily deals.

Java was also ordered from Jelly Rolls 2 Go. I'm going to make a bunch of coaster with this and take them in to work.

And I couldn't resist It's A Hoot - also from Moda.

And finally another Daily Deal from Misssouri Star Quilt Co - A Breath of Avignon jelly roll.

Well enough with the new fabric. I had better get back to my postage stamp quilt. I am way behind on it.
